Analysis and Use of a Rough Emerald
How is the analysis and use of raw emeralds.
The gemologist and the lapidary specialist perform a complete analysis of the rough emerald before the cutting process.
It will be necessary to study and analyze the countless possibilities of cutting in anticipation of the final color, transparency, treatment and fire of each rough piece before committing to the final plan for each emerald.
This is not without risks, as about 75% of a rough emerald can be lost in this part of the process to produce the perfect cut emerald.
For every 30 cut diamonds, only 1 emerald is chosen for cutting.
